Mimmi’s Hot Water Bottle Cover - English

Knitting pattern for a hot water bottle cover with traditional Norwegian colourwork.

Gauge: 20 x 23 stitches per 10 x 10 cm

Suggested Needle Sizes: 3.5 and 4.0 mm needles, either double-pointed needles or Magic Loop.

Suggested Yarn and Amount:

Sandnes Peer Gynt, or DK weight wool with a meterage of less than 100 metres per 50 grams of yarn.

The bottle cover was originally knitted for a 1.75 litre that measures approximately 20 x 25 cm (7.87 x 9.84 inches) over the body, meaning when measured from right under the bottle’s shoulders and down. You may easily adapt the pattern to other sizes by changing the number of stitch pattern repeats or adjusting your gauge.
